Busy busy!

We've been quiet here on the blog front the last few days because we've been working on some photoshoots.  Hopefully you'll like them.  We'll be sure to share some photos real soon.  Here is a sneak peek....

Getting Inspired For An Upcoming Event

Next week we have an event at the Vellano Country Club in Chino Hills.  It is a luxurious, expansive club hidden behind the city, set against verdant hills.  Cynthia of Cyn In The City is hosting a 'ladies night' bridal event there which also showcases women entrepreneurs and we'll be there to promote our business with a dessert table/candy buffet.  We were completely blown away with how gorgeous the event space was (not to mention the view!) and we can't wait to share pictures with you.  But for now, we're getting our heads together to figure out a dessert table/candy buffet that can compare with this great event.

We're going with grays and pinks for our products.  We definitely want to go chic and upscale on this one. We started thinking of crystals and a bit of vintage Chanel....

Grand, isn't it?

Love the shiny gray of that bow and the pinks. Probably not going to go with bright pinks but if we had to go a bit darker, this is how we'd do it.
I love the creams and pinks in this one, coupled with the grays of the dusty miller.  source

Confetti Love

I love circle confetti.  Loved it so much I wanted to make a whole line of invites and party items for it (if it's cool with Bonnie! ^_^)  I created this first invite here for our Etsy shop.

This would be a great inspiration for anything but I'm particularly drawn to using this for a baby or bridal shower

I love the rustic and colorful feel of this table arrangement.  Have a feeling that we will try this some time!

Currently Working On....

I created this line of party products around this invitation I made a while back.  Though I liked the typical powder blue and chocolate that I saw in many boys' birthday parties, I felt like it was too much of a classic color combination.  So I slid the saturation ticker a bit more on my color selection, leaving powder blue in the dust to make a richer cornflower blue.  Is this party themed? Hmm... no not yet.  That's still in the works, but who says you need a theme to use this in a party?

Just in! Business Card Designs

We sat around trying to figure out how to design these business cards so they would look cohesive AND fit each of our personal style.  During the design process we dabbled with different design elements we loved; from elegant frames, swirls, and sans serif fonts.  We loved how it turned out.  It's so amazing that just a simple color change can completely transform the feel of design.

Spring Color Inspiration

We've been getting rain here and there in California and good sun.  It's starting to feel more like spring with all the plants growing and rainbows popping up after the gloom.  I'm loving Kate Spade's spring 2011 line with these perfect rainbow colors.  We'll be using these inspirations for a spring rainbow party so stay tuned.

A Chic Pink and Black 1st Birthday

Here is one of Bonnie's many events, a beautiful 1st birthday that she put together for her daughter in only 2 weeks! After I attended this party (and took photos EVERYWHERE) I grabbed her by the shoulders and said, "You need to do this party planning thing with me!!"
A quick, perfect little touch for cupcakes, all from Party City
Bonnie found the cute little flowers on these glasses at Target
A basket chock full of goodies including some sparkly gigantic zsa zsa rings!  (I took the ring from my daughter's basket for myself ^_^)
Bonnie decorated this pretty 2-tier cake.  Delicious and gorgeous!
And here's Bonnie with the Birthday Girl!

A Tea Party for Elena

Here's a little photoshoot I put together to showcase some products from my other shop Sweet Petal Bakery

Kickin' it into high gear

Last week we joined a Bootcamp to get ourselves back into healthy shape.  So, besides designing paper products for our Etsy shop, and dreaming about all the great parties we'll put together, we've been texting each other at 5:15 am to make sure we get to Bootcamp class on time (and it mostly involves Bonnie texting me because I'm always last to get out the door).  At the end of the week, our instructor Cara told us about their upcoming Grand Opening that was two days away.  The discussion was followed by a mention that we are in the party planning business to giving tips about planning the Grand Opening to actually helping put it all together!  We were thrilled to get an opportunity to practice our craft with such a great company.  The challenge was to make everything come together in 2 days.  In the end, we were so ecstatic that everything came together smoothly.  Check out the details of the event below.

A little Bootcamp demonstration.  This exercise was always so hard for me!
We had a lot of fun going to Cara and John's classes, and because they are such a kind and awesome couple, we enjoyed every minute of planning the Grand Opening with them.  If you're interested in joining a good Bootcamp where they're not yelling down your throat and killing your joints with concrete floors (as you can see, FitBody Bootcamp's flooring is cushy soft!), you should check out a FitBody Bootcamp in your area here.
